Six Steps to Loving Your Church

New Small Group Course

As announced on Sunday, on Tuesday 21st January, we will be beginning a new course across our small groups which is called “Six Steps to Loving Your Church” with the tagline “from the ministry of the few to the ministry of the pew”. I feel this is a really important course to spend time looking at, and it is for everyone.

The church has purchased a copy of the course manual for everyone and these will be distributed shortly.

For those not currently in group, I will be running the course at church on Tuesdays – one in the daytime at 10am, and one from 7:30pm. Please do come along if you can. 

For the first week, everyone joining the evening course (including those currently in groups) will meet at church and we will watch the first video together, then disperse across the church into our current groups, and those not in a group will stay with me. The daytime course will also begin at 10am on 21st.

We are running this course now as we want to encourage everyone in the church to get involved with the different ministries that we currently offer. This will mean some who are doing a lot stepping back, but there are also plans to create more opportunities to serve in the church. This is one of the ways we are going to take a step towards becoming more missional in our outlook. 

Sermon Series

We will also be starting a new sermon series from Sunday 19th January titled “The Church God Wants”. We will look at different elements of the church each week. This will be related to the course, but each are standalone. I hope that these two approaches will help us to understand what the church stands for, and how we can become involved and be part of the church.
